Chapter 108: Doing As One Pleases
After more than half an hour, Yuki emerged from the Star Harbor Tower, laden with spoils. Most of his loot was carried on him, while those items he couldn’t carry, such as Governor Rebeje, were bound tightly like a wrapped parcel, gagged, and stuffed into a closet in the monitoring room.
Since the spaceship’s launch deck was on the same floor, he planned to take her along when boarding—no detours needed.
As for the possibility that someone might discover and rescue Governor Rebeje midway, Yuki could only chalk it up to bad luck. The prisoner was merely a bonus; if they could take her along, great, but if not, it was no big deal. Yuki would never risk the entire team’s safety by forcing an unconscious captive to move with them.
Yuki began to reach into his pocket.
“This is the spaceship key,” he said, handing it over to the trio from RUSH Squad.
“I’ve disabled the tower’s security system for an hour. Unless someone deliberately checks, no one will notice.”
Yuki hadn’t risked leaving the monitoring room to find the control panel. After all, guards were posted and patrolling the corridors. Instead, he observed through a wall using his skill “Gate,” then accessed the control panel via a network link. Using the skill “Infusion,” he directly triggered the control panel’s “black box” to complete the operation.
Naturally, the guard stationed at the control panel detected nothing amiss.
Yuki went on to explain that the staff inside the Star Harbor Tower were accustomed to swiping cards and entering passwords before entering. So, when he simply pressed the “confirm” button, the door opened as usual without raising suspicion.
Before Yuki could even retrieve the necklace belonging to Fuma, the bright blue little spirit darted out of his pocket, instantly capturing everyone’s attention.
“Hm? Fuma?”
Sero recognized it immediately. Wasn’t this the Fuma from O-50 who had fought alongside Taiga during his travels?
Yuki was still introducing the spirit to the others: “This is Fuma—”
“Yuki!”
Fuma interrupted him, pointing at Zonggu Yui. “Could you hand my Light Key to this young man?”
“Hm?”
Zonggu Yui was momentarily stunned at the sudden request from the little spirit. Yuki, too, paused for a second before quickly retrieving Fuma’s Light Key from his waist and handing it to Senior A-Yui.
Zonggu Yui, not fully understanding what was happening, instinctively accepted the item. It felt cold to the touch. At that moment, as his fingers brushed against the metallic kunai-shaped object, he noticed for the first time a similar large, conspicuous metal piece hanging from Yuki’s waist, gleaming under the light. It was surprising he hadn’t noticed it before.
Yet, in Yui’s hazy memory, that metallic object seemed to have always been there, fastened to Yuki’s waist—it was just that he had naturally overlooked this detail and never paid it any mind.
His attention was completely fixed on the Light Key in Yuki’s possession, unaware that Fuma’s nebula particles had already merged with his body.
Good. It hadn’t been expelled. So, the problem really lay with “Yuki,” Fuma thought with increasing certainty.
“What… what is happening here…???” Zonggu Yui stared blankly at the towering blue spectral giant emerging above his head, utterly lost.
“Hey there, young man, I look forward to working with you~”
“????”
Yuki remained calm, thinking it was just another wrong scene he’d wandered into. He quickly took the opportunity to briefly explain about the Ultraman warriors, their human hosts, and the spark of Taiga.
After hearing this, Senior A-Yui looked toward the Light Key on Yuki’s waist with astonishment. “Yuki, could it be that you… no, but back then, and even then, why didn’t you…?”
Why didn’t I transform into a giant?
Didn’t I want to?
Yuki smiled wryly and explained that he had encountered some issues and was unable to contact that Ultraman or transform.
At that moment, Sero’s gaze toward Yuki shifted, but he remained silent, deep in thought, not approaching.
“Our plan needs some revision,” Yuki gathered everyone around, mainly addressing Balelu, the strategist. “I’ve taken control of over a hundred Sandrius stationed at the armory. I can command them to perform simple tasks, such as attacking obvious targets.”
Sero pondered for a moment and asked, “You mean the Demon Fragments? But those things are alive. If you shatter them, wouldn’t that deactivate and kill their energy?”
Yuki shook his head. The Demon Fragments couldn’t be destroyed outright but could be drained of energy. Some monsters affected by the Demon Fragments ceased to be a threat once defeated, while others left behind fragments embedded in their corpses, later scavenged by certain opportunists.
“I intend to have the Sandrius attack the armory,” Yuki said. “They’re currently inside the armory’s warehouse. If I activate them, it will cause chaos there.”
“We’ll use that moment to infiltrate the Star Harbor Tower. The armory will be too distracted to interfere.”
Balelu nodded, having personally investigated the armory’s base. “If over a hundred Sandrius lose control, the armory’s current forces won’t be able to handle them.”
“You have to understand, this city may seem chaotic, but it actually maintains order. The armory is the guardian of that order. If the armory falls into disarray, the city will be swallowed by chaos—an extremely dangerous prospect.”
There was a risk that before they even reached the seventh floor, the guards might seize their aircraft amidst the confusion. Though they lacked the key, the guards would wait there, anticipating someone with the key to walk right into their trap.
Yuki continued, “That’s why it’s best to deal with the Demon Fragments. If they are the key to the energy suppression field, then once their influence is negated, our combat strength will be unaffected by any chaos.”
Even if hidden masters in the city were unleashed, the light giants were like divine machines to most aliens—and with two of them present, their position was secure.
“How do you plan to do that?”
“I can teleport directly to the tower’s rooftop. There are only three surveillance cameras there, and no guards.”
Since the rooftop was rigged with deadly traps, there was no need for guards.
“Then I’ll take the Demon Fragments and teleport far away.”
Having unlocked two skill slots, Yuki could equip two skills simultaneously, allowing him to act as he pleased.
