Chapter 102: Disdain
Si Yao straightened up, resting her elbows on her knees, and lowered her head to smoke the cigarette to its end. Then, with barely a flicker of her eyelids, she glanced lightly at Bai Yu. "No need."
Bai Yu replied, "We can register the day after tomorrow."
Si Yao’s eyes, slightly reddened, curved into a gentle smile. "Really, no need."
...
That glance sent a chill through the two demons, as if their undergarments had been turned inside out.
Yet, with China’s forward line lacking finishing power, some of the chances he created still failed to turn into goals.
After a secret discussion, Wang Feng led the Cheng Tian Prefecture guards out of Tianfang Star. The reason remained a mystery to all but Zhao Guangming. Cheng Tian Prefecture did not fear the Moon Clan; rather, they wished to avoid igniting the flames of war with them—at least, not yet.
"What’s it to you?" Xia Weiwei sneered at the boy and turned toward the ice rink’s rest area.
In a flash, she appeared behind the towering, two-meter-seven black-robed skeleton, who looked bewildered, still wondering why his scythe hadn’t slain Lan Ze earlier.
“The question is, which deity does the water monster worship?” Geloffa raised the doubt.
The martial arts enthusiasts were also watching closely, eager to see which publications would feature the works they favored in martial arts papers and magazines.
Lan Ze sensed himself being shifted, but the spiritual energy belonging to the domain of the sea had already been mostly transformed. He couldn’t afford distraction; he had to press on and complete the compression in one go, turning every droplet of liquid spiritual energy in his sea of consciousness into the solid spiritual force of a mind master.
If other creatures were subjected to this, having a foot-thick layer of their body corroded, no one could endure it. Not to mention the certainty of being poisoned to death, their vital energy would be gravely harmed.
“Mom, I’m no good at cooking. Liu Kai knows. Why don’t you and my sisters handle it? Actually, before the New Year, I wanted to order a dinner outside, but Liu Kai wouldn’t allow it.”
Yet, despite all this, the reason remained unknown to him. He only knew his mother must have her reasons, harboring a secret—a secret of immense weight.
Chang Guanrui appeared hesitant, pausing for a long moment. Only after Chang Tianmo finished his final soothing words and the project leader escorted him to the door did he take two steps forward, then raised his hands directly at the two black-clad bodyguards behind Chang Tianmo.
“Look at that, such a clever trick,” Empress Dowager Mingsu remarked, glancing at Emperor Mingfeng and then at Imperial Physician Zhong. Her words caught in her throat as she cast a sidelong glance at Xiahou Chen.
As for Wan Qi, at the Linghu drama troupe, he paid no mind when the show aired that night, still pushing hard to meet the schedule.
When Qiao Chu left the Zhan family, he did not expect to encounter the mother of this returning body.
Once Wen Puyu recognized Qiao Chu standing before them, a flicker of panic crossed his face. He then swung his fist hard, aiming at the man who was straddling him.
As the knocking on the door ceased, a response came from the other side. The man standing at the doorway smiled faintly, his mood lifting slightly. When the door opened, though still wary, he had already let go of most of his apprehension.
Lin Zhimu rose from the bath barrel, taking a long stride out. His upper body was bare, but his trousers remained properly worn—quite unlike the fully nude bathing scenes captured on video.
After being ruthlessly gathered by the young man, one of the men left dejectedly. However, the middle-aged man who had shared a brief corner with Ma Long and two others refused to leave.
He remained silent. Meeting her was coincidence, but holding onto her stirred uncontrollable emotions. He waited for her, only to realize the most tormented was himself. Overwhelmed by such feelings, how could he continue from here?
