That afternoon, Lin Doudou sat on the sofa, swinging her little feet out of boredom. Even the usually interesting TV dramas seemed hard to focus on at that moment.

“Stinky Lin Yi, it’s been three days and he hasn’t even returned a call. He’s definitely out there eating well and drinking well,” Lin Doudou pouted.

Normally, she would be the one cooking at home, but having an extra person to take care of made her feel a bit uneasy.

Angel was wearing a pink apron tied around her waist and fluffy black slippers, looking like a beautiful chef.

She came over and said to Doudou, “What’s wrong? Who has made our little princess upset?”

Lin Doudou shyly smiled and hurriedly replied, “Sister An, I’m not a princess at all.”

Angel thought to herself that Doudou was the sister of the big boss of the Linda Group, so how could she not be a little princess?

However, since Lin Yi hadn’t told Doudou about his identity, Angel naturally wouldn’t foolishly reveal it.

So, she smiled slightly and continued to ask, “Doudou, what do you want to eat today?”

“Sister An, just make whatever. I’m not picky,” Lin Doudou said.

Of course, Angel knew Doudou wasn’t picky, as she had seen what a big eater Doudou could be these past few days.

“Then let’s make a seafood feast.”

Angel confirmed the menu for the afternoon.

She sat down next to Lin Doudou and took Doudou’s little hand, asking, “Doudou, can you tell me how much you know about Mr. Lin?”

Lin Doudou looked at Angel with some suspicion and said, “Why are you asking this?”

“I just want to know more about Mr. Lin,” Angel replied with a gentle smile.

As her superior, she naturally needed to understand some of her boss’s preferences.

Moreover, her pride in her figure and appearance had met with setbacks several times with Lin Yi.

This also ignited Angel’s competitive spirit, making her want to know what kind of person Lin Yi really was.

Was he truly the kind of man who enjoyed the thrill of the chase, or was he genuinely indifferent to fame and fortune?

However, Angel’s words made Lin Doudou somewhat misunderstand, and she quickly said, “You mustn’t have any ideas about Lin Yi. He already has me.”

Angel shook her head and smiled, gently tapping Doudou’s forehead with her finger, “You’re quite clever for your age. Don’t worry, I wouldn’t dare have any thoughts about him.”

“Really?” Lin Doudou’s big eyes still showed some vigilance.

“Of course! Otherwise, let’s make a pinky promise,” Angel said, extending a slender finger.

Lin Doudou looked at Angel and sweetly smiled, “Sister An, I believe you. Actually, I know Lin Yi is a very good and gentle person.”

“Um.” Angel couldn’t help but rub her temples; this answer was hard to refute.

After all, everyone has their own opinion, and perhaps someone you see as scum is viewed as a top-notch man by others.

“What does Mr. Lin like to eat? What does he usually wear?” Angel continued to probe.

“Well, just like me, he doesn’t pick at food,” Lin Doudou huffed. “However, Lin Yi’s favorite is still the meals I make.”

Unable to extract more information from Lin Doudou, Angel felt no emotion and said, “Alright, I’ll go buy the ingredients first.”

Angel stood up and untied her apron.

“Sister An, I’ll go with you,” Lin Doudou said, hugging Angel’s arm.

Just as the two were about to head out, there was a knock at the door.

“Is Lin Yi back?” Lin Doudou asked, somewhat excited.

“Probably not,” Angel shook her head.

When she opened the door, a middle-aged man with sharp eyes stood at the entrance.

Even though Angel was used to various situations, she still felt somewhat overwhelmed under this man’s gaze.

“Excuse me, sir, who are you looking for?” Angel politely inquired.

“Lin Yi,” Xue Zhen replied tersely.

“Mr. Lin is not here,” Angel said. “If you have something important, you can tell me, and I will relay it to him as soon as he returns.”

“You’re not in charge.”

Xue Zhen’s gaze shifted to Lin Doudou standing nearby, saying, “You must be Lin Doudou. Tell me, where is Lin Yi?”

“I don’t know either. Why are you looking for Lin Yi?” Lin Doudou asked curiously.

“To kill him,” Xue Zhen coldly stated.

“Uncle, don’t joke around.”

Lin Doudou said this, but her body tensed up slightly.

She had practiced strength enhancement techniques for some time, and with Lin Yi’s support, she had reached the second level of this training.

When Xue Zhen mentioned killing him, Lin Doudou felt a distinct chill.

Xue Zhen did not respond to Lin Doudou’s question; his sharp gaze scanned her for a moment before saying, “Meridians are several times wider than those of other martial artists, and there’s a herbal fragrance about you. It seems Lin Yi knows a master.”

These days, the methods for refining elixirs were almost extinct, and only masters or certain prominent families would possess any elixirs.

“Now tell me where Lin Yi is, or I’ll find countless ways to torture you.”

Xue Zhen suddenly stepped forward, an invisible pressure bearing down heavily on Lin Doudou.

Lin Doudou’s face turned pale in an instant.

Angel’s gaze flickered, and without hesitation, she executed a spinning kick aimed at Xue Zhen’s neck.

“Overestimating yourself.” Xue Zhen disdainfully glanced at her, extending his hand to catch Angel’s fierce kick.

Angel tried to retract her right leg but felt as if it were trapped between two heavy stones, unable to move.

With a snap, Xue Zhen swung his arm, sending Angel crashing into the wall of the living room.

“Cough, cough.” Angel felt dizzy, her chest constricted, and she spat out a mouthful of blood.

“Sister An!” Lin Doudou cried out in worry.

“Worry about yourself first. I’ll give you one more chance: tell me where Lin Yi is and where his master is,” Xue Zhen’s voice was icy.

“I don’t know! I said I don’t know!” Lin Doudou retorted angrily.

“Very well.” Xue Zhen’s expression remained indifferent. “As long as you’re here, I don’t believe Lin Yi won’t come.”

Xue Zhen took a step toward Lin Doudou, who threw a punch at him.

Doudou’s strength was already considerable, and combined with her training, even an adult man would struggle to withstand her punch.

But unfortunately, Xue Zhen completely disregarded Lin Doudou’s punch and kicked her in the stomach, sending the little girl flying backward, unconscious.

Xue Zhen showed no mercy. He slowly approached Lin Doudou and grabbed her by the hair.

Looking down at Angel, who was not far away, he said, “You go tell the Wang family to have Lin Yi come to Longhu Cliff. I’ll only give three hours; otherwise, for every minute that passes, I’ll break a bone of this girl.”

After throwing down this statement, Xue Zhen left with Lin Doudou.

Ten minutes later, Angel had barely regained some strength and hurriedly called Lin Yi.

However, she found the phone was out of service area, which made her heart race with anxiety.

“Wait, the Wang family? The Wang family from Lan City!” Angel’s eyes lit up, quickly sending someone to contact the Wang family.

Meanwhile, she called Wu Da, “Mr. Wu, something bad has happened.”

Wu Da’s voice was steady as he scolded, “Angel, you’ve been with me for so long, haven’t you learned to remain calm in emergencies?”

“Mr. Wu, it’s Lin Yi’s sister who has been captured!” Angel was too frantic to care about staying calm.

Bang.

A loud thud echoed from the phone; Angel knew it was Wu Da’s phone dropping.

“Angel, you’re not joking, are you?” Wu Da’s voice trembled slightly.

“I wouldn’t dare joke about this,” Angel gritted through the pain in her body.

From Wu Da’s reaction, it seemed Lin Yi’s identity was even more complicated than she had imagined.

“Who took Lin Yi’s sister? You have ten minutes to mobilize all the resources of the Linda Group. We must not let her come to any harm,” Wu Da said urgently.

“Understood. I’ll do my best.” Angel forced a smile; after practicing for over ten years, she had been defeated in one move.

She wasn’t naive; she understood the terror of a master. Although she didn’t comprehend how Lin Yi had provoked a master, she couldn’t refuse Wu Da’s order.

In no time, the entire Linda Group was mobilized.

Groups of security personnel headed toward Longhu Cliff, while others were desperately searching for Lin Yi’s whereabouts.

Not only was Wu Da flustered, but old man Wang from the Wang family in Lan City was equally anxious.

“It’s over, it’s over.”

Wang Yang paced back and forth in his room, having just received news from Angel that Lin Yi’s sister had been captured by a master.

“The Tong family is playing with fire,” Wang Yang sighed, knowing even he wasn’t clear about his teacher’s strength, but it was certainly more terrifying than a master.

The provincial capital was about to face a storm!
