Chapter Fifty-Four Mr. Lin

In the lobby, beside Dong Wenwen stood a middle-aged man with a fleshy face and large ears. He wore a white shirt and suit pants, his round belly nearly bursting the buttons off his shirt.
“Heh, I didn’t expect that after being away for a while, the lobby manager would be replaced by such a beautiful lady.”
“If you spend a night with me, I’ll give you a hundred thousand. Otherwise, with just one word from me, you’ll be out of a job. Believe it or not?”
The middle-aged man grinned lasciviously, his eyes roaming shamelessly over Dong Wenwen.
“Screw you.”
Yuan Zhekai cursed loudly and kicked the man squarely from behind, sending him sprawling to the floor.
Then, turning to Dong Wenwen with concern, he asked, “Are you alright?”
“I’m fine,” Dong Wenwen replied, shaking her head. She felt nothing but disgust for this man who had the audacity to demand she sleep with him.
By now, the middle-aged man had picked himself up from the ground. He glared at Yuan Zhekai, voice cold and venomous. “You little punk, you dare hit me?”
Hot-blooded and unyielding, Yuan Zhekai retorted, “So what if I hit you? You dared try to get my friend into bed. Honestly, it’s mercy I didn’t strip you naked and throw you out onto the street.”
“That’s right! Look at yourself—thinking you can act like some old lecher with the young girls.” The other boys glared at the middle-aged man in support.
“Fine, very well. Do you know who I am?” The man, incensed, let out a twisted smile. It was clear to him now: today he was up against a bunch of reckless kids.
“I don’t care who you are. Bully my friend, and I won’t let it slide,” Yuan Zhekai declared loyally, though doubt began to creep up inside him. He had no recollection of any figure like this man among the real big shots in Jiang Province—the ones truly untouchable, he’d memorized by heart.
This thought restored Yuan Zhekai’s confidence.
The girls who had come along looked at Yuan Zhekai with admiration—he wasn’t just handsome and wealthy, but also gave them a sense of security.
The middle-aged man said nothing further, pulling out his phone and dialing a number.
“Hello, Yao Likun? Come here now. I’ve just been assaulted in your hotel,” he said darkly.
Dong Wenwen’s expression grew worried. “He actually knows Young Master Yao. This is going to be tricky.”
Young Master Yao, heir to the Jin Hao Hotel, was a well-known second-generation rich kid in Jiang Province.
“Don’t worry, Wenwen. I know Young Master Yao as well. We’ve even had dinner together a few times,” Yuan Zhekai reassured her.
“Brother Kai, who exactly is Young Master Yao?” someone asked curiously.
“You know Jin Hao Hotel, right? There are three locations in Jiang Province, worth billions. And Young Master Yao is the heir to the hotels,” Yuan Zhekai explained.
“My god, billions and three five-star hotels! That’s incredible,” the crowd gasped. Even ten million was an unimaginable fortune to them.
Jiang Xiaoning’s eyes sparkled with envy; she wished she could cling to Young Master Yao on the spot.
“Brother Kai, if that fat slob brings Young Master Yao here, aren’t we in trouble?” someone said anxiously.
“Didn’t you hear? Our Brother Kai also knows Young Master Yao. Maybe that fat pig just happened to meet him once,” Jiang Xiaoning said with a sweet smile.
“Oh, right! Then what are we worried about?” The group all breathed a sigh of relief.
Yuan Zhekai smiled smugly.
Soon, a black Ferrari pulled up at the entrance.
Dong Wenwen straightened herself immediately. “Young Master Yao is here,” she announced.
Everyone looked over with curiosity. When they saw the flashy Ferrari, the boys were filled with envy, and the girls itched to rush over, take a photo, and post it online.
Two of the hotel’s hostesses hurried forward to open the car door.

As soon as Yao Likun stepped out, he playfully slapped the two hostesses on their rears before striding inside.
Yuan Zhekai immediately hurried forward; compared to Yao Likun, his own wealth was insignificant.
“Young Master Yao, you’re here,” Yuan Zhekai greeted respectfully.
“Mm, and you are…?” Yao Likun couldn’t quite place him.
“Yuan Zhekai,” he prompted quickly.
“Oh, right—Yuan Zhekai. Come by anytime,” Yao Likun nodded.
He had learned his lesson: no matter whom he met, it was better to keep a civil attitude. He still shuddered at the memory of having offended a certain big shot before.
Yao Likun’s words made Yuan Zhekai elated, and he glanced provocatively at the middle-aged man.
The middle-aged man didn’t respond, his face cold. “Yao Likun, you’re finally here,” he said.
Yao Likun stiffened and walked over quickly. “Good day, Second Master Wang.”
The Wang family was the fastest-rising clan in Jiang Province, with powerful backing—no one dared cross them. Even though Second Master Wang was considered the most useless member, nobody dared underestimate him.
“Hmph, I’m not well at all,” Wang Tong grunted.
Yao Likun immediately humbled himself. “Who was so blind as to offend you, Second Master Wang?”
“Him, and his friends. I was just chatting with this beautiful lady, and they ganged up to beat me,” Wang Tong said, pointing at Yuan Zhekai.
Yao Likun’s eyes flashed with disdain—everybody knew Wang Tong was a worthless glutton. Just chatting? Only a child would believe that.
Still, Second Master Wang was family, and this happened in his hotel. If he didn’t handle it, a single word from the Wangs could shut down Jin Hao Hotel overnight.
As for Yuan Zhekai, he was just an heir to a small company—no real background at all.
With this in mind, Yao Likun’s face darkened as he approached Yuan Zhekai.
Yuan Zhekai now realized the severity of the situation. Even Yao Likun was showing deference to this man, yet he’d kicked him directly.
Smack.
Yao Likun slapped him across the face.
Yuan Zhekai wanted to dodge, but didn’t dare.
Dong Wenwen frowned, her voice soft, “Young Master Yao, it was only because he wanted to…”
Before she could finish, Yao Likun shot her a glare.
Everyone else did their best to keep their heads down, not daring to breathe.
“You’re all getting out of hand. Apologize to Second Master Wang at once!” Yao Likun commanded sternly.
“Heh, I don’t need their apologies,” Wang Tong sneered.
“Then what do you want, Second Master Wang?” Yao Likun asked.
“I want her to spend the night with me,” Wang Tong said, eyes gleaming as he pointed at Dong Wenwen.
Fury flickered across the faces of the crowd, but no one dared step forward. Even Yuan Zhekai faltered; Dong Wenwen was beautiful, but with money, you could have as many beauties as you wanted.
He only hoped Second Master Wang wouldn’t remember him personally.
“I won’t,” Dong Wenwen said, her face pale.
Yao Likun tried to persuade her: “Dong Wenwen, as long as you spend one night with Second Master Wang, everything will be fine. Otherwise, he could make Jiang Province unbearable for you with a single word.”
The crowd was stunned again; they hadn’t realized how powerful Second Master Wang truly was.
Some girls, jealous of Dong Wenwen, muttered, “Slut, if it weren’t for you, would we be in this mess?”
“It’s just one night. What’s the big deal? Maybe you could even use the chance to climb higher.”

“Stop pretending you’re pure. Don’t you know yourself whether you’re still a virgin?”
Dong Wenwen listened to their words, her eyes welling with tears.
Li Yang tugged timidly at Lin Yi’s arm, fearfully whispering, “Lin Yi, maybe we should just sneak away.”
“No need. We can just walk out,” Lin Yi replied calmly.
“Don’t be reckless! Didn’t you see even Yuan Zhekai is too scared to move?” Li Yang urged.
“He’s him. I’m me,” Lin Yi said with a gentle laugh.
Jiang Xiaoning, standing beside Lin Yi, sneered, “Country bumpkin, you’ve got no skills, but you sure talk big. Why didn’t you make a move earlier?”
Lin Yi ignored her, raising his voice a little, “Yao Likun, it’s only been a few days, and you’re at it again?”
Everyone was startled. Jiang Xiaoning hurried to pull Lin Yi aside, hissing, “What are you doing? Do you want to make this even worse?”
As long as Dong Wenwen agreed, the matter would be settled. Who could have guessed this fool Lin Yi would jump out and cause more trouble?
Everyone glared at Lin Yi, wishing they could tear him to pieces.
Yao Likun’s face changed, cold sweat prickling his back.
“My god, why do I keep running into him? Are we fated to clash?”
Yao Likun was on the verge of tears as he strode over to Lin Yi.
In everyone’s eyes, he was about to lash out in anger.
Jiang Xiaoning and those around her quickly distanced themselves from Lin Yi, afraid of being caught in the crossfire.
But—
Yao Likun reached Lin Yi and bowed obsequiously. “M-Mr. Lin, if you were coming, why didn’t you let me know in advance? I could have welcomed you properly.”
Mr. Lin?
He called himself “your humble servant”?
Everyone’s minds went blank—they couldn’t believe their eyes. Was this really the same Young Master Yao they’d just seen? His attitude was even more respectful than toward Second Master Wang; he was only short of calling him “father.”
Dong Wenwen stared, eyes wide with shock. Jiang Xiaoning was struck speechless.
Yuan Zhekai looked as if he’d seen a ghost. He simply couldn’t accept that Lin Yi, this country bumpkin, had suddenly turned the tables and now stood above him.
“Young Master Yao, you must be mistaken. He’s just some hick from our class,” Yuan Zhekai reminded him.
At this, Yao Likun broke into a cold sweat.
He glanced anxiously at Lin Yi—after all, Yuan Zhekai was this big shot’s classmate, so he didn’t dare act rashly.
“Do as you please,” Lin Yi said lightly.
Only then did Yao Likun turn a cold gaze on Yuan Zhekai. Damn you, calling him a hick? Are you trying to get me killed?
Without another word, he walked up and kicked Yuan Zhekai to the ground.
Thud.
Yuan Zhekai didn’t dare fight back and was sent sprawling.
Then Yao Likun turned to the security guards nearby. “What are you standing around for? Beat him! Don’t stop until I say so.”
After giving his orders, he hurried back to Lin Yi’s side.
Wang Tong, standing off to the side, grew displeased. “Yao Likun, what are you doing? Don’t forget who I am.”
But Yao Likun paid him no mind. He knew perfectly well: the only reason the Wang family had risen to become Jiang Province’s number one clan was because this man was secretly supporting them.
As for Wang Tong, a useless glutton—if he didn’t know that, so be it. But he didn’t even have a shred of awareness.
Old Master Wang had been wise all his life—how did he end up with such a worthless son?
