Volume One: The Hell-level Lord World Chapter Two: The Infinite Synthesis Talent
[You have activated the talent: Pet Synthesis!]
"Pet Synthesis? So it's the summoner or beastmaster type of profession?"
Glancing at the newly activated talent, Chen Gu immediately understood. The world of Lords had been open for quite some time, and thousands of talents had been thoroughly studied. Every talent’s possible career path had long been charted out. Just by seeing his own talent, Chen Gu knew exactly which direction he could take in the future.
But that wasn’t the main point. After activating his talent, Chen Gu calmly spoke:
"Fusion talent."
That was the true source of Chen Gu’s confidence in challenging the Hell-level Lord’s World. When he transmigrated to this world, his soul’s passage had triggered a unique talent ahead of schedule.
[Unlimited Enhancement (1/1)]
This talent could fuse with another person's talent, transforming their ability into an infinitely enhanced version. Such a phenomenon had occurred a few times in history: those who gained unlimited enhancement mostly ended up as emperors of the Lord’s World.
However, the Unlimited Enhancement talent was not beneficial for its owner, as it couldn’t bring any direct advantages to oneself. In the end, most of its holders could only remain ordinary.
Upon realizing he possessed [Unlimited Enhancement], Chen Gu chose to remain silent, waiting patiently until he entered the Lord’s World and another talent was awakened.
At his command, the one-time-use Unlimited Enhancement was activated.
The information before Chen Gu shifted.
[You have activated the talent: Unlimited Pet Synthesis!]
Seeing the change, and watching as the talent [Unlimited Enhancement] faded, a rare smile appeared on Chen Gu’s face. After that fleeting smile, he began to examine the details of [Unlimited Pet Synthesis].
After scanning the description, Chen Gu found that [Unlimited Pet Synthesis] was fundamentally the same as [Pet Synthesis]. Both provided a synthesis interface: by placing a [pet] and [synthesis material] into the interface, you could receive a synthesized pet.
Currently, Chen Gu’s [Pet Synthesis] was at level one, allowing only one pet and one type of material to be placed in the interface. As his talent advanced, he would be able to add more materials.
Players who specialized in pet synthesis often created bizarre and unprecedented creatures. For example, among last year’s top ten new lords, one possessed [Pet Synthesis] and, in his very first game, fused a tank with a giant pincer crab, creating a pet that ranked among the top ten most formidable in the world that year. Now, that player was a celebrity.
But Chen Gu’s synthesis interface had some additional features compared to the standard one. Besides the normal synthesis mode, his panel included [Batch Synthesis], [Unlimited Synthesis], and [Nest Synthesis].
[Batch Synthesis] allowed the simultaneous creation of a massive number of pets, all with the same formula and materials—hundreds, thousands, or even billions at a time.
[Unlimited Synthesis] was similar, but instead of synthesizing thousands of identical pets, it focused on a single pet, letting you endlessly add materials for repeated synthesis.
The final feature, [Nest Synthesis], allowed for unlimited synthesis at the very root of a pet.
This made Chen Gu realize the true change Unlimited Enhancement had brought him. This was his chance to conquer the Hell-level Lord’s World.
After reading all the information on his synthesis interface, Chen Gu began searching his surroundings. For now, his priority was to synthesize a suitable pet to ensure his own safety.
He looked around. The place where he’d been dropped wasn’t particularly dangerous—just open ground, with the nearest forest over three hundred meters away.
Chen Gu glanced down. The earth was covered in dry, decayed mud with some bones buried within. An undead mage would have been ecstatic here.
But his talent made that path impossible, and the system had warned him upon entry.
All undead in this world belonged to the Black Castle.
He couldn't use any powers associated with necromancy here. What he needed most was to find a small wild animal—even something as weak as a mouse, a bird, or a rabbit would do. That way, he could synthesize his first pet and survive the opening phase.
But looking up at the sky, the crows flying from the forest all had exposed white bones. This worried Chen Gu—had even the small animals here all become undead?
He thought about it carefully and finally focused his attention on the ground. Bathed in the pale light of three moons, he carefully searched the earth. He wasn’t expecting to find birds or similar creatures; even the hardiest insects would suffice.
Now, it was just a matter of what he could discover.
Chen Gu rummaged through the soil, found a bone, and began digging. Lacking proper tools, he didn't force his way underground but gently turned over the surface, searching for suitable materials.
Soon, he found a living creature—a worm as thick as his thumb, its entire body an inky green, just over two feet long. For a worm, it was impressively large.
When Chen Gu first spotted it, he was startled, but after confirming it was alive, he finally smiled.
He had found his first pet.
