When Bian He saw the webpage interface, she was momentarily stunned. She blinked, then rubbed her eyes hard before finally turning to the production team. After a moment’s hesitation, she asked, “Are you sure we’re supposed to play these kinds of little games?”

The group director gave a definite answer.

In the live broadcast room, the viewers stared at the page full of mini-games, froze for a few seconds, and then burst into laughter.

“It’s obvious Hehe wants to play something super challenging, but the production team won’t allow it.”

“Oh, I see Gold Miner! When I was little, I used a ruler to help me aim in that game!”

“You’re not the only one, trust me.”

“I didn’t use a ruler, but I definitely used some kind of reference.”

“Hahaha, I haven’t played these games in so long.”

The comments scrolled by, filled with nostalgia for childhood memories. Director Chen was quite satisfied and turned to his staff. “Let’s just have them play these.”

“But…” The staff member glanced at the schedule. They were supposed to be outside playing physical games right now—like three-legged races, activities involving physical contact. Switching to mini-games instead, he worried whether it might send the wrong message to minors.

But he couldn’t voice these concerns, not when Director Chen looked so pleased with Yan Ningsi’s arrangement.

At that moment, Yan Ningsi straightened her back with pride, lifting her chin in self-satisfaction. “Well? Isn’t my plan just perfect?”

Bian He was left speechless.

Lu Wenchuan remained expressionless, clearly uninterested in the day’s activities.

Lan Qing and Shen Jin exchanged a glance. Lan Qing shrugged, a bit helpless but mostly nostalgic. “It’s been ages since I played these games.”

“I wonder how I’ll do now.”

Shen Jin gazed at Lan Qing with deep affection. “Don’t worry. As long as I’m here, there won’t be any problems.”

“Ahhh, big brother is the most reliable!”

“I want to play two-player games with big brother too!”

“So jealous of Qingqing…”

“Hehe, is big brother going to guide Qingqing through the games later?”

Instantly, the viewers’ fantasies ran wild.

Sang Yijia stared at the colorful interface for a moment before belatedly recalling that the orphanage only got desktop computers in recent years; before that, they could only watch TV.

And the TVs were all those bulky, heavy ones.

After leaving to work, Sang Yijia saved up quite a bit, but setting up a computer room was no small feat. She managed to buy a flat-screen TV so the children could watch more comfortably.

“What’s wrong?” Lu Wenchuan noticed Sang Yijia was lost in thought and waved a hand in front of her eyes. “What are you thinking about?”

Sang Yijia shook her head. She thought, with the original host’s comfortable life, she must have played these games before. She pinched her palm, then smiled calmly. “I’m terrible at games. If I do badly, please don’t get upset.”

“I won’t.” Lu Wenchuan wondered what she was worried about; hearing this, he just shook his head with a helpless smile. “Do you really think I’m that kind of person?”

“No,” Sang Yijia denied, “I’m just overthinking.”

“Let’s go.” Lu Wenchuan headed over first.

Sang Yijia followed and sat down on the computer chair. It wasn’t too soft, but not hard either, and the monitor could be adjusted to suit her needs.

She made a few adjustments to the screen, then to the chair—her movements were particularly precise and serious. The glow from the monitor cast a gentle halo over her profile, making her flawless features all the more striking; not even the world’s most precious gems could compare.

Lu Wenchuan stole another glance at her, then, noticing the camera’s focus, casually shifted his gaze to the computer screen and opened the webpage.

Director Chen returned, task cards in hand.

Lan Qing glanced at him, then at the cards, narrowing his eyes. For some reason, he felt today’s task shouldn’t be this simple, but reality was as it was.

“Ahem,” Director Chen cleared his throat. “This afternoon’s task is a special arrangement.”

“As for the real task scheduled for this afternoon, we’ve moved it to tomorrow morning. That’s when the final showdown will happen.”

He continued, “Now, the webpage is open on all your desktops, and we have a dice here with different games listed on its faces.”

“Whatever game the dice lands on, that’s the one you’ll play. Scores will be recorded, and whoever scores highest wins.”

“The winner will receive a luxurious dinner tonight and a private double movie screening.” With that, he left the rest to the staff.

The staff brought out a large foam dice, looking rather hastily made.

“Now, to decide who gets to roll first,” the staff member said, “Let’s play rock-paper-scissors.”

“Each person has three chances. If you lose, you’ll have no choice but to play the mini-game we assign.”

Sang Yijia frowned and asked Lu Wenchuan, “Are the scores different between the games?”

“Probably,” Lu Wenchuan admitted honestly. “I haven’t played these before.”

Sang Yijia fell silent—she hadn’t played them, either. She’d only managed to save enough for her first laptop just before graduating college, and it was used.

During her studies, any time she needed a computer for assignments, she’d go to the computer lab or borrow one at the library.

With time and opportunities for learning so precious, how could she use public resources to play games?

“So… who’s going to do rock-paper-scissors?” Sang Yijia regretted the question as soon as she asked it. Lu Wenchuan didn’t seem the type to volunteer for that. No matter how she looked at him, it just didn’t fit!

“If you don’t want to, I can go,” Lu Wenchuan answered without any fuss.

Sang Yijia replied with a hum, tossing the choice back to herself—so should she go or not?

While she was still hesitating, Yan Ningsi came over and pulled her up. “Come on, let’s go play rock-paper-scissors.”

Seeing Sang Yijia step forward, Lan Qing suddenly stood up, startling Shen Jin beside him. Lan Qing curved his lips in a small, apologetic smile. “Is it alright if I go play?”

“Of course,” Shen Jin was pleased by the gesture, thinking Lan Qing was giving him plenty of face in front of the cameras. “I’ll go along with whatever you want.”

“Thank you,” Lan Qing replied sincerely, then walked out, only to see Yan Ningsi looping her arm through Sang Yijia’s. His eyes tightened; he couldn’t help wondering which link he’d missed, how Yan Ningsi and Sang Yijia seemed to be growing closer by the day.

Hmm, it seems the original heroine has caught on to something~~~
