Sang Yijia paused for a moment and then let out a soft laugh. "Why do you ask all of a sudden?"

"This time, we’re going to the seaside for filming, and we’ll be visiting an island during the trip," Lu Wenchuan said, rubbing his temples. He inwardly regretted asking such a trivial question but was relieved that Sang Yijia had no other doubts and went along with the conversation.

"Hmm..." Sang Yijia fell silent for a moment. "I don’t think so, but I’m not entirely sure." Being a native of the south and growing up in a small county town, the largest bodies of water she had seen were small rivers, let alone navigable large rivers.

After entering the story world, Sang Yijia had been living at a normal pace.

"Alright, I’ll prepare some seasickness medicine. If you feel unwell, make sure to tell me," Lu Wenchuan noted.

"I’ll prepare some too," Sang Yijia said after a pause, a slight smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "Thank you for the reminder."

Lu Wenchuan was silent for a moment before nodding in response. "Okay."

"Is there anything else?" Sang Yijia asked.

Lu Wenchuan was momentarily at a loss for words. "No, see you next time."

"Alright." Sang Yijia ended the call, looking at the screen with a faint smile. "This does seem somewhat interesting."

"So, how should I do this well?" She lowered her gaze, deep in thought.

She was never one to avoid problems. She didn’t dislike Lu Wenchuan, but she didn’t like him either. How to put it?

Sang Yijia thought being friends was fine, but going further seemed difficult—though not impossible to try.

—

The last week of September ended with a light rain.

Sang Yijia received a reply from the editor: her manuscript was rejected, deemed unsuitable for the website’s current requirements. However, the script itself was well written, and she was advised to submit it elsewhere.

The editor’s response was polite, but Sang Yijia sighed heavily. After submitting, she checked the current trends and realized that script-based murder mysteries weren’t popular anymore; short videos mostly featured everyday family conflicts.

Sang Yijia let out a small sigh, moved the mouse to exit her email, and then her phone rang. Looking down, she saw the caller ID: it was her agent, Mo Yani.

"Jiajia, I’m at your door," Mo Yani said. Knowing Sang Yijia would be filming a dating reality show tomorrow, she had come to check in today.

Sang Yijia responded affirmatively and got up to open the door.

"Jiajia," Mo Yani said as she stepped inside, noticing the apartment was much cleaner and tidier than before—all the belongings neatly arranged and untouched.

Mo Yani recalled that the last time she visited, the apartment was a mess, with all sorts of things scattered about.

—

"In a few days, I’ll be moving," Sang Yijia said plainly. "My family bought me a house."

Actually, it was a birthday gift from her third brother. Now, it just needed a little tidying before she could move in.

Mo Yani responded with an "oh." "I’ll inform the company about this new place."

"No need. I’ll buy it myself." Sang Yijia turned to the bar counter and poured Mo Yani a glass of lemon ice water. "Consider it a keepsake."

Mo Yani was silent for a moment, not quite understanding why wealthy people commemorated things by buying property. But given the several buildings under Sang Yijia’s name, buying a place was probably no big deal.

"So, the production team is coming tomorrow. Will the filming be here?" Mo Yani recalled. "If it’s confirmed here, I won’t tell the crew to change the location."

"Change it," Sang Yijia said, glancing at the original owner’s decor. Though green and eye-catching, it didn’t feel like her style.

"I can move in this afternoon."

Mo Yani agreed and then remembered her purpose for visiting, placing some documents on the coffee table. "Here’s the script for Bian He’s online drama. Take a look."

"I’ve already read it. The plot is acceptable, nothing majorly wrong," Mo Yani said after a pause. "But it has nothing to do with the original work."

To be precise, it only borrowed the title.

Sang Yijia hadn’t explored it before. Glancing at the cover, it seemed vaguely familiar but she couldn’t recall where she had seen it. "I’ll read it tonight."

"Also," Mo Yani handed over another set of materials, "this is for the endorsement."

"For colored contact lenses." Mo Yani looked closely at Sang Yijia’s pupils, which indeed seemed different from normal people’s—much darker, like ink.

"Someone noticed your eyes are beautiful and approached us for a collaboration," Mo Yani explained. "The shoot is scheduled after the first variety show finishes."

"There’s still plenty of time."

Sang Yijia nodded. "Just arrange it."

"Additionally, for this variety show, your personal assistant Chen Luo will accompany you," Mo Yani said, already having confirmed this. "This time, they won’t forbid bringing an assistant."

"What about Shen Jin and Lan Qing? Are they confirmed to continue?" Sang Yijia wondered if the leads would still appear, since the movie had already been confirmed.

"They’re going," Mo Yani replied. "Shen Jin has training to attend, but he still has time. And he can’t avoid public appearances forever."

He needed to maintain his presence occasionally.

Sang Yijia nodded in understanding. "Then I have no other questions."

"Lan Qing and Shen Jin have roughly the same training schedule," Mo Yani added.

Ding dong—the doorbell rang.

Sang Yijia knew it was the movers.

"Will you come with me to the new place?" This was a house gifted by Sang Qibo, registered under her name, a duplex with two floors.

Her mother had even hired a housekeeper specifically for cooking and cleaning.

Sang Yijia’s life was truly flourishing.

"Sure." Mo Yani didn’t yet know the new address and was curious which of Sang Yijia’s many buildings she had chosen.

Sang Yijia opened the door to let the movers in. "You don’t need to move anything out. Just carefully pack everything here."

Many of the items belonged to the original owner.

She didn’t want to disturb them.

"???" Mo Yani was puzzled. "Aren’t you taking these furniture pieces?"

When Sang Yijia bought them, Mo Yani didn’t know her background and thought spending tens of thousands on a sofa was extravagant, not to mention a bed worth hundreds of thousands.

And now Sang Yijia said none of it would be moved?

"No need. I’ve already bought new furniture over there," Sang Yijia replied.

Mo Yani had nothing more to say, only envy shining in her eyes.

The movers were stunned at such a request. Looking around at the furniture, even the cheapest shoe cabinet cost tens of thousands.

Silently, they began their work.

A little mishap in the real world caused the delay tonight; apologies.
